Izzy Doerr | A Different Kind of Light | Tell Me About YOUR Apple Festival
Every generation has someone who inspires the next.
One of the things I loved most about talking with Izzy Doerr was hearing her describe the Miss Apple Festival queens who came before her. She said they had a "different kind of light" about them—a kindness, confidence, and grace that inspired her to one day run herself.
By the end of our conversation, I couldn't help but think that same different kind of light is now shining from Izzy.
She's thoughtful, genuine, and carries herself with a maturity well beyond her years. More than anything, she represents the very best of our community.
We should all be proud of the future of the Murphysboro Apple Festival and our town with young people like Izzy leading the way.
Fun fact: Izzy was a last-minute addition to my interview schedule. She came straight from the drive home from St. Louis and somehow still walked in looking like a million bucks—completely camera-ready.
Thank you, Izzy, for sharing your Murphysboro Apple Festival story.
