Volunteerism runs through Emily Eisert’s blood.

Her entire family has dedicated themselves to the Apple Festival, and Emily and her husband have added a tradition of their own.

Now in its 10th year, Taste of Murphysboro has become one of the festival’s hottest traditions—a one-of-a-kind outdoor dining experience that gives back through scholarships for Murphysboro kids. What started as an idea between Emily and her husband has grown into something bigger than they ever imagined.

And now, their own kids are growing up the same way Emily did: helping.
