Bobby Alexander is a retired Murphysboro firefighter—and something of a celebrity to generations of local kids thanks to his years working with them in the schools.

Every year, Bobby has another familiar role: leading the Grand Parade with the honor guard.

For Bobby, it’s personal. It’s family. And it’s a matter of honor.

He calls it “my parade.”
